I have an 1969 X11 SS350. If I'm reading correctly it should have black door sills. I was wondering if anyone has a good photo they could send me so I can pass it on to the body shop. I would like to see how the black edge transitions into the cars paint color at both ends of the sill plate and at the top of the rocker. Is it a matt black?
Thanks for any help! Joe

The transition is a straight line thru the centers of the holes that hold the rocker spear trim onto the rocker. Black paint extends from wheelwell to wheelwell below those holes

Not the door sills-the rocker panels from the bright trim down were painted black with most but not all colors. I'm sure it will generate discussion but based on OE paint "survivors" the paint used appears to be full gloss.

Thanks! Painted on the rockers would make scense. When the sills were sanded there was no black paint. I don't know if there was any on the rockers. I wonder if Fathom Green was one of the colors that did not get this treatment.

The colors shown in Chevy ordering info that did not receive black rocker paint were 51 [Dusk blue] 57 [Fathom green] 61 [Burnished brown] 67 [Burgundy].

Thanks! I appreciate the help! That's one less body shop cost$$$$

Thanks for those photos! I noticed the detail on the undersides of the cars too. WOW!

I try to go to Carlisle every year to lear more about these cars. I always bring my camera. Photos help me remember what I learn. Never actually met any CRG members there other than a very brief hello with Jerry M 2 maybe years ago.
