Were the clamps originally plated or bare steel finish? The bolts I assume had the same phosphate finish as other bolt.

This pic shows both repos (outside of the pic) and originals (towards the middle). The two "split" clips that go on the floorpans are refinished black, as they were originally.
Originals Ive seen both dyed/tinted blue, as well as a few that are more like a robin's egg blue. The smaller ones that go over the un-shielded part of the brake line across the sub were silver.
As you can see, the repos aren't exact. Some Ive seen dyed blue, others that looked like they were painted the wrong color.

How were the "U" clips and the brackets at the 3 brake hoses finished?
I looked at one of the front to rear clamps and I can tell it was plated, but no sign of blue. Is there a way to dye them blue after plating?
-
Also are the spring clamps black or olive for the fuel lines and PCV hose?
-
I think the U clips had a dark phosphate finish like the bolts.
When I cleaned up my fuel and brake line clamps the only place I found the "blue" remaining was on the 3/8" clamps where they were bolted closed. I'd bet that they were color coded for quick assembly at the factory.
I think Brian from SCW posted on the Yenko site he dips the clamps in machinists dye.

I'm not sure about the color of the 3/8 spring hose clamps, I'll have to get a better look at mine tomorrow.

Fuel line clamps are olive and PVC clamps are black phosphate

Thanks.

The light blue colored ones were on the 10D 69 Z I have here and the Black unrestored car as well.

Olive...I just took one off my car. It was dirty but cleaned it up and olive appeared.
-
I know the fuel line clamps are olive but are the PCV & booster clamps olive too??? Isn't that hose really 11/32 requiring a different clamp, so different finish? I thought those were black phosphate. Can someone confirm?

I going through my Survivor '69 Z28. All the current small parts I have purchased (Coil, PCV hose, etc.) do not exactly match the origionals. I have only used a few items that were close enough [The battery tray nut was lost, and I had to used the tray assembly].
I have only two of the 4 origional fuel line hose clamps (two were broken). The origionals have square ends and are slightly smaller. Photo of origional and new below.
Where can I get origionals or correct replacement Fuel Line and PCV line clamps?

You can get the fuel line spring clips in olive color from most shops. I dont know where you can get the clips that have the squared off ends.
While showing my 67 Corvette at a Regional NCRS event in Charlotte I was called for the "mickey mouse" ear clips. The judges told me to file them down square and I would be good at the next show. So that is what I have done.
My Z/28 has the original squared off clips in olive color.

So are we saying the PCV & Booster hoses had Olive colored clamps too?
Home Depot/Lowes carries the clamps (in stock is another issue as their usually in the "bins" or pull out trays and you all know wonderfully those things organized) but their the newer mickey mouse style.

The booster and PCV hose clamps should be black - those hoses are larger than the 3/8" fuel hoses that use the olive green clamps.

Much Thanks John, that's what I thought.
