..are the 67-68 RS fenders the same as a standard camaro fender???
-
first, the only stupid question is the one you dont ask. the fenders are different. there are brackets in the front to bolt in the rally sport headlights. that being said, you can get the brackets repro and have them welded in, if you have a line on clean regular fenders.

....Ah..!! so they are different......?? Thanks alot...

The head lamp mounting bracket is mounted about an inch and a half deeper on the front opening of the fender. The brackets are easliy changeable by drilling and welding. Pretty easey actually. Other than that the fenders are the same.

I have converted new repro 67-68 fenders from standard to RS with these brackets. It was a quick and simple task. I did not havve access to a welder at the time and I used a couple of large heavy duty rivets on each side and they worked perfectly when I was done and I never experienced any problems the entire time I owned the car.
On the lighter side, my old college professor used to say, there is no such thing as a stupid question, just stupid people. Not many people asked questions in his class after that.

so the standard fenders have the brackets as well? for some reason I thought that the brackets were only for the rs? sounds like here they both have the brackets and the rs are back towards the firewall more?

IT IS A DIFFERENT BRACKET FOR THE RALLY SPORT

Those are ralley sport fenders, they will only accept the r/s grille unless you remove the brackets and weld in the ones for the standard grille.
