Title: X77 cowl hood/spoiler
Post by: ccargo on October 28, 2008, 08:35:07 PM
I'm about to start restoration on my X77 and was wondering if it was a good idea to have Jerry authenticate it before I start to pull it apart and strip the paint? I first thought that it wasn't necessary because its a NOM car but it does still have original paint and is spoiler, and cowl hood equiped and a desireable 720 72 72 Hugger combo. Would the original paint confirm those options and if so are they rare enough to add value to the car even if it's without the original DZ? Its a May built X77 without the D80 designation. It's also a non console tach & gauge car.....weird order.

That would be a question for Jerry. Regardless of his answer, I would start taking LOTS of pictures. I would photo the entire teardown, restoration, and assembly, part by part. A pain in the but? Yes. Part of the total documentation to prove the history of the car's history.

Buy Jerry's book right away to start. You will learn alot and it is very easy to use, then read all the info you can off this site even old posts.
