Please help.  I am restoring a 67 SSRS 350 Vert.  I have almost every engine piece but the block.

VIN 124677L119418

Would this be a good replacement engine for the restoration?  Mine is a powerglide set up originally.

I need to know what I can do to get it as close to original as possible

Thanks for any and all advice.

What's the build date on the car you're restoring?  Also, this block is coded (MT) for a manual transmission car...     :P

The engine for sale is dated for a car built 3 months after yours.

My build date is Nov 66.  Thanks.

If I was restoring your car I would look for a different block.  This block was cast on December 2, 1966 and the engine was assembled on February 2, 1967.  Both these dates are after your car was built.  Also, as I mentioned before this engine is coded for a manual transmission.  Just my two cents.  Good luck with your decision...     :)

That info is exactly what I needed.  Thanks a lot for answering.  I am learning how to read codes and find out what matters.  I want to do it right.  I have an engine I can use, and do not want to spend money on something that is incorrect.

I really appreciate the feedback.  I have learned (well mostly) to ask the professionals prior to bidding.  You guys rock.
