As far as I know the correct 67 RS grill is not reproduced yet. The ones being sold by HBC and others is the 68 version.
Notice the availability, it says backorder which means not available...yet.

I had one made from a 68 and it's perfect.

The individual who did my grill had made a jig and sands the grill down to make it correct for 1967. It looks perfect. I also had the correct upper and lower grill sections riveted on. I recently sold my car and the new complete 67 grill assembly is hanging in my garage.

...recently "SOLD" your car ??? ...say what? ... ??  (really?)

...on he subject of this thread, ...what RickH stated is my awareness too. As forthe rivets, ...I'll add,...one of the guys over on www.camaropacecars.com has/had the/a rivet gun to install the grill rivets too. (at least that's what I remember from seeing him in Carlisle...)

I had an NOS 67 grille for about 30 years with the upper and lower moldings factory installed too.  Just used it in my new 67 Z28, "Project Stocker".  It finally got a good home.

Yes Kevin, Unfortunately I sold my award winning 67 RS. It's a sale I truely regret now. At least I have the book.  :'(

I have a complete correct 1967 RS grill assembly if someone needs one. Riveted and all.

...that is a surprise, ...but I also think I can understand (I get some crazy thoughts myself sometimes, ...I just don't want to look back and regret it though...).
Did yours go to a 'good home'? ...hopefully we'll still see it around...

Kevin,
Remind me to tell you the whole story when we get together at Carlisle. When I sold the car I thought it was going to a good home and be left just like it was. I think I was wrong. Darn!

It's just a car, right?

No. If the person you sold it to mislead you to believe that, I know how you feel.
I have been considering selling my documented 70 Chevelle ss lately to fund my 67 Camaros restoration. The 70 is just a shell too and I don't see it getting restored anytime soon either. I waited 23 years for that car and KNOW I will regret selling it, if I did.
Wish I was in a position to buy your grill assembly. I have an "original GM" in it now. Must be a 68 too ???

I've never understood the difference between the two versions..WHat is the difference and what is sanded off to make it "correct"?

Although this post http://www.camaros.org/forum/index.php?topic=1087.msg6272#msg6272 is part of a discussion regarding the 68 RS grille it does show a 67 with the vertical and horizontal ribs/bars level with each other.

okay...sorry for the dumb question, but I am a 69 Camaro guy, but I have owned a 68 RS.  What is the difference between a 67 and 68 RS grille?  They look identical to me.

Ah I see!

I did a search for '67 grille before I asked ..great post and the photos are helpful....sdkar may help you visualize as well.

My (2nd) NOS replacement is a '68 style- no surprise I guess...I had been told about the difference before but wasn't sure exactly what it was.
A woman backed into me in about '76 so my original is replenishing our oil supplies in a landfill somewhere in eastern Washington...looks like others had this same experience in the '68 thread.

I bought a replacement then as well...its in the attic- I'll have to look someday to see what version it is...thanks again..
