Title: space saver tire
Post by: onebad34 on October 12, 2008, 05:39:59 PM
1967 camaro, space saver tire, are the canisters the same for 67,68,69?  I am doing a 67 bb and the car came with the space saver tire, but no canister. e-bay shows one for 68,69.  Is there a difference?  thanks  Pete

I went out to my assembly manual and on page 361, UPC65, sheet A2, shows the mounting assy for the space saver tire for both the coupe and convertible. My car had the space saver in it and the mounting location for the bolt on a full size tire is in a different place.  I still need the canister.  Pete

Pete,
You are correct, the AIM shows the space saver tire installation but it never went into production on the 67. The same thing happened to the front spoiler (extension)  shown on D80 A1 page 237 of the 67 AIM and the rear extension on Z28 B2 page 438.
