DO YOU THINK YOU COULD SNAP A PICTURE AND POST IT OR PM ME WITH IT? I APPRECIATE YOUR HELP. I NEED TO SEE HOW THE CARPET IS FINISHED.
THANKS

My rs car doesn't have a carpet guard either but I just assumed the original owner took it out for some reason. When I get back to the states and can check it out farther I will look at it more closely. I have purchased one to put in it but I may have to look more closely.

??? That's weird. You can see in the pic where the screws would go. There's that round plastic thingy on the right, and you can see an indentation on the left where that attacing screw would go. And that looks very original to me.

I know this is an old thread but I had to chime in on this subject. My car is also a 67 RS,SS and had no Carpet Guard. I am the original owner and was not aware there was anything like a Carpet Guard until I seen it in a parts catalog, when I was doing my restoration. At the time, I brought up the subject on Team Camaro and over there, everyone said the Carpet Guard was standard. Over here I notice its the other side of the coin. I got a Carpet Guard for the restoration, put never installed it.

Could you list your build date and plant?
Thanks!

Sorry I didn't see this reply until today. The build code of my Camaro is 01B. It is a SS/RS with column shirt, power glide and front bench seat.

Awesome. Thanks Roger!
My guesses are that one of the following things happened with the missing carpet protector.
1. Someone was not doing their job correctly on the line at this time period.
2. There was a parts shortage.
Would love to hear more about your car. Some day I would like to own a column shift SS Camaro.

My NOR 04D 1967 Camaro also doesn't have the carpet guard.
Looks like putty and a firewall plug were used to seal the firewall.
