Title: Urgent - need help identifying original flapper valve screws
Post by: nuch_ss396 on September 07, 2008, 07:39:23 PM
Guys!

Can anyone post an image of an original screw ( how many were there anyway - 6 or 8 ? )
that was used to attach the flapper valve frame to the ZL/2 hood?  I am looking at a complete
assembly right now and the screws are the only items I've personally never seen........

Nuch

They're pan head phillips screws (#423595) - same screw that was used to attach the 4-speed backup light switch to the mounting bracket on the transmission on '67 Camaros with M20.

John,

The AIM calls them out as hex head screws.  Hence my confusion......

John,

Any chance you can snap a picture of one on your Z and post it for me?

I am assuming your setup is all original........

My Z is a '69, so it doesn't have the transmission-mounted backup light switch like the '67 did. However, the same screw (#423595) was used on the '67 Corvette backup light switch, photo below.
