Title: Another transmission ID

  I would like mine decoded too. http://i325.photobucket.com/albums/k391/TEAMDILLON/IMG_0003_1.jpg  I can understand the POM29A and I assume the 10w123986 is the vin from original car but what does the CT9 and the A41373 mean?

The CT9 and A41373 have no meaning that I know of. Maybe rebuilders stampings?

Strange - it has a VIN from a '70 Nova, and also has a 5/50 warranty replacement identification (the CT9  A41373); must have been made originally at Muncie in 1969 as a 5/50 replacement, and wound up being shipped to Willow Run instead.

CT normally indicates a service trans.

The only plausible explanation here is the trans made it into a car and then had a problem (probably in the assembly plant). It was then returned to Muncie who rebuilt it and shipped it as a service part (probably for 69 Camaro or Corvette, since they had extended production runs in 69). Interesting it got stamped with both years.

I've seen this once before (all the same year though).

I don't think a service part would make it to the assembly plant. Whereas an assembly part that needed repair would make it into back to Muncie and then into the service system.

Either way, it's not an ordinary occurence.
