Title: Real SS or a clone??
Post by: purecam on July 03, 2008, 11:40:27 PM
I just bought a 69 Camaro, and it has all of the SS stuff.. I was told it was a 396, 350 hp car, but the the big block and 12 bolt are long gone... It has disk brakes, that appear original, 2 fuel lines, and the brake line (block) under the drivers door.. No build sheet on the gas tank, and the cowl tag reads as this... St6912437 VN235334

Unfortunately not too much can be told from a cowl tag on a Van Nuys car.
The vin indicates a V8... the 2 gas lines indicate a non solid lifter engine... look and find the parts numbers on the frame stands for the engine... also look at the trans cross member and see what the cut out looks like... (where the trans mount bolts go through) is it oval? rectangle with a corner cut off? Get the info and reveal what you find.
