Title: Intake 3932472 problem or not???
Post by: opelitis1 on June 07, 2008, 11:38:02 AM
I turned the above intake over, and, where the hold down bolt would go is a hole. Don't know if someone in their infinite wisdom has put a toooo long bolt in there and the intake now has this hole.  I have a pic if it'll clarify the question... Can the intake be run as is or should the hole be welded up???  Thanks!   Ted

Are you talking about the bolt hole for the distributor hold down bracket?

We restore and repair all aluminum intakes, let me know exactly what you're talking about and I'll let you know what should be done.

Click on the "Additional Options" item below the window where you compose your post, and it will bring up a "browse" window; use that to find your photo, and it will show up in your post.

No pic yet.  As Jerry stated, if you need a repair on the intake,  he can do it. 8)

What is the best way to remove broken off bolts on a 69 z28 intake thermostat area.
Can whats left of the bolts be removed without damaging the threads. Can the threads be saved?
thanks

Good Morning!!!  Tried a couple of times but, we are on a very slow land line + low bandwidth and, by the time the picture tried to send, it was somehow timed out...  I can send to an e-mail address with no problem but, not to a board...  Be happy to send a pic as it definitely (the hole) doesn't belong in this area...   T.

Thanks 68Zproject!!! One can see where the hole is and shouldn't be.  The hold down bolt holes on other intakes don't go right through..  Looks like this was "lopped off" for whatever reason???   Just wanted a quick easy fix of some sort until the $$$  starts flowin' a mite better...  Again, I Appreciate it!!!   Ted
