Up-date
Does anyone have any measurements such as length , I.D. , O.D, thickness of the sleeve, so that I can make some sleeves ?

I've been looking.  Haven't found anyone making them.

Joe , thanks for the reply .

I am in the process of building a 67 w/BB and thought I new the correct components for the power steering system .
The 67 assembly manual shows on page 374 ,2 sleeves, 1 clamp and a clip ( part of steering gear ) and on page 370 it only shows the sleeves and the clamp ( no clip ).
The 68 A.M. shows on page 375 the same as 67 A.M. page 374.
The 69 A.M. shows on page 405 2 sleeves, 1 clip, 1 clamp and a clip ( part of steering gear ) .
I bought a very late 68 ss/rs/396 ( in 69 - July or Aug. delivery ) and it had the 69 set up. I am not sure if it had 1 or 2 sleeves.
Also need to know if the return line hose uses screw or pinch type clamps an optional clamp ( 9424894 ) is shown ?
John Z or Jerry do you have any thoughts on this topic ?

The return line ('69) uses a screw clamp; optional part numbers for it simply reflect two different suppliers of similar clamps. Sleeve usages are as shown in the illustrations for the different applications. I don't know of anyone supplying reproduction sleeves.

John, thanks for the reply.
Looking at the 67 A.M. page 374 the caption [ HYDRAULIC STEERING 396 ENG EXCEPTIONS ( RPO L35- L78 ) ], I take the word Exceptions to mean that  sheet is to be used for the assembly of L35 and L78. Am I interpreting this correctly ?
Will be at Camaro Nats. in a couple of weeks and hope to meet you and Jerry.
Again thanks for your help.

Correct. That sheet (N40, sheet A10) shows the parts unique to the L35/L78 installation; the small-block V-8 installation is shown on N40, sheet A6.

Sleeve
.75" ID
1.250" OD

Oil soaked, deteriorated originals on a PS 1968 396 LOS car.

I have not found it avail via repop houses. We use a very similar material to insulate pipes on Submarines trade name 'Aramflex Insulation' I need to see if they have it in the above size. The color, density, shape, feel is very similar.

Himm, 45295K54 is silicone for $70+

I like the Neoprene tubes better.  I have used McMaster Neoprene to make Astrovent, heater box and kickpanel seals quite successfully.  I think they are a better and cheaper option.  Not sure what size would work best though (need to measure carefully).

Multipurpose Blended Neoprene Foam Tubes

Color: Black
Temperature Range: 0° to 165° F
Cell Type: Closed
For Use Outdoors: Yes
Density: 22 lbs./cu. ft.
Pressure to Compress 25%: 9 psi (Soft)
Tensile Strength Rating: Not Rated
Oil-Resistance Rating: Good
Neoprene is blended with EPDM and polyethylene for foam tubes that offer good resistance to water, sunlight, and oxidation. Use them as jackets, seals, and insulation. This foam has closed-cell construction, which restricts water, air, and gases from being absorbed. Tubes have an ultra-smooth texture for a sleek surface that's easy to wipe down.

I used the below hose protector for a Boss 429 Mustang, seemed to work just fine:

My factory sleeve on the pressure hose is around 6" long.

The Silicone Mcmaster version is priced at .99 per inch.  better bulk pricing than half the Ford part pricing.

The neoprene hose selection looks good. Mine are very tattlered and soaked, torn, stretched and taped up

Lots of options- Nice

I think the 2029N14 would be the closest at 3/4" ID, 1.5" OD (slightly thicker side wall).  $38.10 for 10' long ($1.90 for each 6" section, which you get 20 of them :D)

Or maybe 202N13 for $15.37 (slightly thinner sidewall)

I have a couple cars that need this and McMaster is close by, I think I will get one, thanks!

I did order the Expensive Silicone version and It fit Very well on the Low Pressure Hose, Impossible to install on the Crimp on HP Hose.
