Are there different lengths than a standard muncie 4 speed car?  350 vs 396.

Depends on the transmission - the Muncie cable went through the firewall ajdacent to the wiper motor to the passenger side of the transmission, and all others (3-speed, Saginaw 4-speed and automatics) went through the firewall below the fuse block to the driver's side of the transmission.

Nope - the transmission, not the engine, determined the length of the speedo cable.
