Anyone know what the correct rivets are to hold the side ears that go on the ends of the 68 grill? Does anyone sell these or know where to get them? Thanks.
-
Their 3/16 or 1/4 hollow. Have to look for correct size. I know ropop brackets come with the rivets but I'm sure AMK carries them.

I bought my rivets from Classic Muscle. The only problem is that you need a special rivet gun to install them and I can't find one. I think they are the same style rivets that were used on the old riveted brake shoes.

Sorry for the long dely in response-was swamped getting the car ready for Nationals. Anyway AMK part number B-13399 is the rivet-3/16, $3 for 12. I made a rivet set using old brake tube flaring dies and a c-clamp. Worked perfect but you have to cut the dies down. A rivet set for brake shoes works too as Larry said. If your not going for 100% correct but want the look search e-bay for threaded rivet or rivets-screw, it's a rivet with threads and a nut.

I am missing the brackets too. I don't remeber seeing repop brackets anywhere but I will look. You say the repops come with the rivets? I've got a local guy who has three barns full of Camaro stuff so I can get brackets from him too.

Yep, repops come with the rivets, but just enough-you might want to get some extras-trust me! Check Heartbeat City or Ricks.

I also sent you a PM.

Thx. Replied a few minutes ago.

I would still like to know where to get a rivet gun to install these rivets. A regular rivet gun does not install them correctly. Thanks.

i have the correct rivet gun to install these rivets. i am a little reluctant to rent it out as i still havent installed the grille in my 67 rs/ss. i wouldnt know about taking a deposit to insure its safe return. i am not a business, just someone who wants things done right. send me a pm and we can discuss it more. i also have extra rivets to rivet the grille to the lower valance.

could you email me some hi-res pics of the rivet gun. I work in a gm factory and i would like to try my hand at reproducing it like i have with some other tools. please include a ruler in the shots for size reference.
thanx. paul.
