Title: 1967 Camaro space saver spare info? N65 option
Post by: DaveR on April 15, 2008, 06:44:15 PM
Anyone know how to tell a correct original space saver spare for a 67 Camaro?  Is there a code?  Who made the wheel?  How rare?   I found a space saver in a junk yard with a  M17 3 16 and HE code.  Thanks!

My '69 SS 396 (12B build date) Camaro also came with the space saver spare, would like to know what the code should be?

It was only available in 68 or 69 in a Camaro. Don't think in 67 in any carline, but I'm not sure.

The 67 AIM does show a "Space Saver Spare Tire & Wheel Equipment - Braacket & Inflator" page (N65 A2).  Will check books to see what else I can find.

GM did have a space saver tire, developed by BFG, in the 67 Firebird.  But the Firebird didn't come out until early 67 (Feb., I think, = 67 and a half?).  So, maybe the N65 was introduced late in production year.   ???

Production was zero in 67 Camaros. Zilch.

But apparently other carlines may have had it.

As has been discussed before, the AIM shows several options that were never released for production.
