ok guys, i am installing a new ACC carpet in my 69 camaro. the front bracket for the console is bolted thru the floor, looks like its impossible to get at with out taking out the trans. whats the trick to the new install? what can I do besides going crazy taking out that bracket? I know one of you guys must have a trick. thanks in advance. ??? ???

You can get your hand to it with a box end rachet wrench...

The bracket should have two rivnuts into the floor

Nope, the bracket has studs and the nuts are on the underside.

You should be able to get to the nuts with a flex socket and long extension. My perferred choice would be 1/4 inch drive.
As always be safe, use jack stands and not just a jack for support when working under vehicles.

Whoops, sorry about that I was thinking about the rear mount.

Just cut the carpet around it. Unless it's different from 68 the carpet didn't go under the bracket in the first place.
Also, a good trick for any holes you have to make for the seatbelts is get the carpet in it's final location and then come from the bottom with a pencil type soldering iron and burn a hole through. Come from the top and widen the hole with the iron big enough to get the bolt in. Advantage of using the iron is it keeps the carpet from fraying and getting a piece pulled into the hole when tightening the bolt which will ruin your day.

thanks, the carpet I took out was under the mount. since I first posted i did cut around the mount, it came out great. if you are correct , i am glad to hear that the carpet didnt come under the mount anyway.
