Title: Z28 stripes with vinyl top
Post by: lcmc on March 16, 2008, 10:01:50 PM
I"m looking at a Z with paint code 76 B. When they restored the car they did not put the vinyl top on it. I was wondering how far the stripes were with a vinyl top from the bottom of the rear window. I believe I would have to redo the stripes if I installed a vinyl top on the car. That would make it way more exspensive to do.

Yes you would have to redo the stripes...

Probably wouldnt be that difficult to fix.  You would likely only have to paint the filler panel between the decklid and the rear window.

The forward edge of the stripes would end 5/8" from the vinyl top molding; without a vinyl top, the stripes end 5/8" from the back window lower molding.

Are these stripes correct for a vinyl top?

Not right for either...
