Does anyone have pictures of original or suvivor 69 4-speed shifter linkage, the shifter mounting bracket, clutch push rod, and the reverse lockout rods? I would like to confirm the correct plating, paint color, or natural steel color, of these various components listed below. Or, can you confirm what is considered correct per judging standards.
The colors/planting I have listed below are what my originals appeared to be, but would like to confirm. If you could copy and edit my list and include the correct color or finish after each item would be helpful.
Jerry MacNeishs book, The Definitive 1969 Camaro Z/28-SS396 Fact Book, shows black and white photos of 69 Z28 linkage and levers. The levers appear to be natural steel, and I believe the 1-2, 3-4, and reverse rods were dark phosphate plated.
This is the list of items I am referring to, organized by section as called out in the 69 AIM:

The Hurst shifter tower is silver cad, the mounting bracket on a SB car is silver cad, dark gray phosphate on the BB mounting bracket. Shift levers for 1-2, 3-4 are yellow zinc, the reverse lever is dk gray phosphate. Shift linkage rods are dk gray phosphate, bell crank is dk gray phosphate,

Are the shift rod swivels dark gray phosphate also?
I assume the nuts that lock the swivels in place are standard gray-black phosphate?

I am still wondering what the correct finish should be on the clutch push rod assembly. This is Item #17 & #18 on page 112 in the 69 Assy Manual. Is it dark gray phosphate also? See pic attached, the item shown in the bottom of the picture.

Jerry what is the finish on the reverse lock rods and the lock out itself----the part that attaches to the sub frame?

I am reviving this thread as there are a few unanswered questions. I recently purchased a 22,000 original mile 1969 RS/Z project and it appears the engine, transmission and diff have never been out of the car. The car did have a few Day 2 bolt ons including a flex fan, ACCEL large format coil, headers, traction bars and a Hurst Competition Plus shifter body. The shifter rods and levers that were included with the aftermarket Hurst Shifter assembly were in a box of parts that accompanied the car and were never installed. Instead, the original levers and rods were used, except the long reverse lockout lever to bellcrank rod had been removed (fortunately it was in a box of parts retained with the car). I have attempted to summarize the information on finishes/plating posted to this thread however the items in bold have not been well defined or confirmed, so input would be appreciated:
1. 3138 Shifter Body - Silver Cadmium
2. Shifter Rods (all) - Zinc (dark grey) Phosphate
3. Reverse Lockout Bellcrank - Zinc Phosphate
4. Reverse Lockout Bellcrank to Subframe Bolts - Manganese (black) Phosphate?
5. Shifter Body to Transmission Adaptor Plate - Sliver Cadmium
6. Shifter Levers 1-2 and 3-4 - Yellow Zinc (or Cadmium?)
7. 5769 Shifter Lever - Reverse - Zinc Phosphate
8. Shifter Lever to Rod Washers - Silver Cadmium
9. Adaptor Plate to Transmission Bolts (2) - Manganese Phosphate or Silver Cadmium ?
10. Adaptor Plate to Transmission Large Screw - Silver Cadmium (?)
11. Shifter Body to Adaptor Plate Bolts and Washers (2 x 2) - Manganese Phosphate ?
12. Shifter Rod to Shifter Body Lever (threaded) Buckle - Silver Cadmium or Zinc Phosphate ?
Regarding Item 6 (Shifter Levers 1-2 and 3-4) I have never seen these levers in other than Silver Zinc. I understand later production Z/28s may have used Yellow Zinc - would like some input on this . For Item 7 (5769 Shifter Lever - Reverse - Zinc Phosphate), I have only seen the reverse lever in Manganese Phosphate not Zinc Phosphate - would also like input on this.

I have seen forward levers that look silver cad with no yellow and some look like a yellow tint
some forward levers have the molded rubber bushing insert and some don't have the rubber bushing
the AIM looks like no rubber in the drawing
its odd because the hole with the notches was made to accept the molded rubber like used on the shifter levers
normally a no bushing lever just has a round hole like used on the Rev lever and on 67 68 Camaros
most of the forward levers I have seen had the rubber or traces of rubber from a worn bushing

Joe, typically only the shifter levers housed in the shifter body have moulded rubber bushings.

I disagree
I have been buying collecting rebuilding Hurst and Muncie shifters for over 25 years and over half of the ones I had
had the rubber on the forward levers or they had a trace of the rubber where it had been.
I have also seen the rubber bushings on unrestored cars
Some didn't have the rubber
I also had a NOS set that had the rubber
I don't know why some didn't have the rubber as the notched hole was designed for the rubber bushing
If they were not going to use the rubber, they would just need a round hole

Lloyd - regarding the shifter levers, mine had hints of yellow zinc/cad. I had them re-plated with full yellow zinc.

More - here's another picture of the shifter levers (Items 6 and 7 from the list) - you can clearly see the yellow hue for the forward shifter levers and for the Item 7 - Reverse Shifter Lever - it was dark phosphate. No hint of silver zinc anywhere. These are original to my Z, 04B, LA build.

Regarding these:
9. Adapter Plate bolts as best I can tell were Mag Phosphate. After clean-up they were quite dark and did not show any hint of Silver Cad.

And finally, regarding - 11. Shifter Body to Adaptor Plate Bolts and Washers (2 x 2) - Manganese Phosphate ?
I think the main center one is Silver Cad as best I can tell when I cleaned it up and the lower bolt is a dark Phosphate.

Here's the shifter pieces I had plated. Can't absolutely verify they are 100% factory correct, but I had everything re-plated on the best evidence I had when I inspected each bolt and shifter piece.
