Title: Hydroboost on First Gen Camaro? Wilwood/Safari/Astro?
Post by: sdkar on March 08, 2008, 05:39:21 AM
Has anyone installed a hydroboost on their first gen Camaro?  If so, what is your opinion?  Also, has anyone ever installed a hydroboost from a GMC Safari or Chevy Astro?  Will this unit fit?

Thanks,

Steve

Okay, for anyone who is interested, I got two different hydroboosts.  One from a 94 Astro/Safari which comes off the firewall straight out and has two resorvoirs.  The other from a 2000 Astro/Safari which tilt slightly downward and has only one resorvoir.  I have test fitted both of them and other than having to drill two lower bolt holes, they fit very nicely and actually look really cool.  I didn't hook up the brake pedal rod as that would have to be shortened a little.  So if you are having vacuum problems or just plain fitment problems with a brake booster than either one of these will work fine for you.
