???I just was looking on "racing junk" at a 2657 block. I asked the seller for the casting date and he stated the engine was either built in late 63 or early 64!!!!!! I thought the 2657 was only available in 1967?? Or am I wrong?

I know it was only used in Corvettes in 1967 - I'm out of town this week and don't have my references handy for any other usages.

John:
The 3892657 block was used in '67 for the 302,327 and 350 Camaro also. I looked at the reference material I have available and could not find that number listed for any year other than 1967.

Does anyone know for sure when the 3892657 block was produced?
Thanks

'64-'67; it was the last small-journal 327 block.

??? John:
Not doubiting you info, but where are you finding this? I have looked at Mortec and nastyz28 and no where can I find this casting, 3892657, other than being produced in 1967 for the 303, 327 small journal and 350 large journal unless I am reading something wrong.

This is a 67 only block. Colvin documents it. As a sanity check, the entire casting number clarifies it, 3892657. Drawing numbers this late - 389xxxx - weren't pulled prior to 67 model year.

Thanks Rich! I wasn't sure if I was reading everything I have seen correctly. I could only find this number being available in 1967 and no other year.
Thanks
