I've got that same radio.  I wish I could find my antenna.

Very nice!  I like your license plates, customized yet vintage.  Keep us updated with photos of your progress.     :)

Grandseahawk, I found a guy back east that will stamp the California and tag wells into a personalized plate like you did. But now in California, starting next year, we can get our black plates back. Nive looking car. I saw a Z/28 very similar to yours at the Pismo Beach Classic show last year.

Found the Black Plates online. I had to have them shipped out of state because the company would not ship to California.

And, that was this car at the Pismo Beach classic on father's Day Weekend...on the green Astroturf. It was far from complete...non functioning electronics/radio, etc. Seats were not complete, etc. Front springs were not correct. But, I made it to the Gold Class. Got a nice scratch in the $$K paint job from a lady who played stupid and said she just wanted to "feel how nice the paint was." She made scratches with her wedding ring as she was "feeling" it. DUM8-A$$ !!!

Rock On...

So were you able to get your car registered in California using those plates?     ???

Yes, it's registered with that combination of numbers and letters. I have a "matching" off-white and blue, today-style plate that actually goes with the car...but it matches.

Rock On...

Wow! I love a good undercarriage. Can you post a picture of the front and hood? Nicely done.

Yes, the same car I saw there. No way to know it was not done.

I thought about getting a personlized plate and sending back east for paint and to get tag wells and the CALIFORNIA stamped in it. But staring in 2009 we can get original black plates (year of mfgr.) put on our cars.

The way I understand it, it will work like any of the other year-of-manufacture (YOM) plates. The YOM has just been moved up to include 1969. Get a set that is clear and pay your money. I am not clear if the sequence will need to match what would have been on the car originally. We will see when the rules come out. I bought a set starting "X---- " last year. Just recently I found out my originals were YXV391.

This license plate thing kind of got off topic, but one more thing. Here is the link to the legislation.

Engine with 69 Valve covers. These are NOS DZ.  I'm still looking for a pair of MO valve covers.

Front Suspension. I have since replaced the "remanufactured" original front springs because they were worn and the car was riding too low in the front.

This is the website where I bought my plates. You can even make the plates online to see what they will look like. $75 per plate is not cheap, but a small price compared to what I spent on everything else on the car.

How did you get them? The front page says they do not ship to California.
