Title: 7027213 carb
Post by: 67RS-SS350 on January 16, 2008, 06:16:37 AM
my 67 ss 350 has q-jet 7027213 dy 0360. ok so here is the question how can a 7027213 which is correct for my 67 350 4 speed non-cal car 2nd type with a born date of 04a have a date of 0360 (feb 6 of 1970?). the numbers are stamped on the carb not in the rebuild circle tag.  thx

It's a service replacement carb.

it seems odd that roch would still be making raplacements carbs and stamping them with the old number and a new date. it would make more sense to just have a somewhat generic replacement carb to send to dealers.

Service replacement carbs were made for many years after the original production application, and were identical to the originals except for the date; there was some level of parts consolidation so one service carb would cover multiple applications, but the calibrations had to be accurate for emissions compliance.
