Anyone have a picture showing the X11 wheel opening stripes?
-
I dont have picture but as far as know its just pin striping starting at the bottom front of the wheel wells and ending about half way down on the door line and almost to the rear bumper on the quarter panel body line. hope that helps.

It's not part of the X11 trim. They were a separate option RPO D96 and are shown in the Assembly manual. They were included in the RPO Z22 (Rally Sport) option for at least part of the production year but was removed around December68 /January 69 and remained as a separate option for the rest of the year.

Mark, wasn't D96 fender & quarter pinstriping part of Z-21 Style Trim, which was what triggered the X-11 code on non-SS and non-Z/28 cars?
-
With some exceptions D96 fender stripes were included with style trim group as stated in the ordering info.
The exceptions were SS and Z/28; no D96. Ordering info also states one stripe option per car so ordering any other stripe [D90 or DX1] would eliminate the D96 stripes.
Z10 and Z11 were also exceptions in that they received both Z/28-style and D96 fender stripes. Z/28s did not receieve D96 stripes as a normative practice. It is thought that a few very early production Z/28s had both.

Thanks guys. I am the original owner and i remeber my base model vert having the DX-1 stripeing on it (back now after the new paint) and also the pin stripeing at the wheel openings.
I want to have the pinstripe put back on but it sounds like it was not supposed to be on the car.
I will have to check the build date but if I remember right it was a Nov date.

I have a X-11 (COPO Recreation) 69 Camaro. I do not have a 69 assy manual. Are there specific accurate measurements for the D96 stripes in assy manual. Could someone post that page or possibly scan and Email me.
Thanks so much,
