Check here:  http://www.camaros.org/drivetrain.shtml#RearAxleNumbers

BP in '67:  3.08:1, 10 bolt, non posi rear axle assembly

0117:  Axle assembly date, i.e. January 17 (1969?  see below with regard to the housing casting date)

G:  Detroit Gear and Axle Plant

2:  Second shift

B7890 (should be 67890) and 345 are test marks

A 8 9 is the casting date.
A = January
8 = day
9 = year, i.e. 1969

The casting date would indicate that the axle assembly is not a '67 axle but rather a 1969 assembly with housing casting date of Jan 8, 1969.   BP in 1969 was a 2.73:1, 10 bolt, non posi rear end.
