Title: New guy..looking at a 68
Post by: SSTROKED67SS on December 21, 2007, 03:07:43 PM
Hi all...I have been reading this site and camaros.net for a while now and finally sold my Typhoon to fund the purchase of a 67/68 Camaro to sit next to my 97 SS.  I have been looking around for a couple of months, and found a Camaro in Florida.  Just wanted to know what you guys think?? My father is going up to look at it today for me since I am in NJ.

Anybody know of anyone in the area that can inspect it for me?  My father is very mechanically inclined, just know you guys are a WEALTH of knowledge when it comes to 1st gens and know exactly what to look for.  I spoke with the previous owner who had the car restored in 2003 said it was a rust free car that was done in Arizona, only body panels that were replaced were the quarters due to dents.  He said it is an original SS 350 4spd w/air. (condenser, compressor, and fire wall cover were taken out).  He said eveything inside the car was left.  He said it has the "better" richmond t-10 4spd with the 2.88 first gear, and saginaw quick ratio steering box.  I am waiting on a pic of the trim tag, but he said it was originally a green car.  The rear wheels are a bit much, but easy enogh to swap out.

Thanks

Derek
