Based on the pics, I would think you could conclude that some degree of painting/restoring has been done to the engine, shocks and possibly other areas. I am not questioning the mileage. These are the  are the types of cars you need to see in person. I will say I see lots of original well perserved areas as well.

This car has been around since the mid 1980s.  It's the old Peter French car.  Was first seen at the ICC Camaro Nationals as a Red White & Blue entry.  Very original car that was a theft recovery in 1969.  Peter and his brother purchased this from the insurance company to build it as a drag car, his brother had a heart attack and the car sat to the next 20+ years.

I have inspected this car many times.  The paint is the nicest original Corvette bronze paint that you'll ever see.  Same for the interior.  The engine is not the original engine.  Engine bay has been tweeked but the firewall is original.

In many ways, this is still a very cool car.

Steve,

The mileage is real.  Haven't you seen this car at the ICC shows?  Was there for a number of years until P. French sold it.  I know that it went to Corvette and Collectables when French sold it and from there I don't know.  I know the owner up until last year.

Yes I briefly saw it 10 plus years ago. As I stated, I am with you regarding the mileage. The firewall and floor pans and paint looks awesome.

So, are all those pics accurate and a good reference to use for restoring a '68 SS 350?

Original or partially restored, that's an awesome Camaro!

That car is a very nice example.  20 years ago when it was being shown around, most didn't pay much attention to it.

We will have to see how it does.  The only isssue that can hurt this car is it's not a 4-speed.

The car was a no-sale back in 2005 - at $47K!
