Title: Question about 1969 Z28 DZ engine
Post by: 69RallygreenDZ on November 15, 2007, 03:17:55 PM
I am restoring a 1969 Z28 Camaro with a build date 1st week of June 1969. When I bought the car the original engine was missing so now I'm searching for the correct date coded engine. I posted a wanted ad on Camaros.net and found a 1969 302DZ engine with date code of April 16,1969. I know its not as close is I would like but I would appreciate any feedback about this engine. Would it be acceptable for my Camaro or should I keep looking. If any who reads this has a 302DZ that would work please respond. Thanks for all feedback

Forget the April 16 engine; not even close.

06A is misleading as it includes all Norwood Camaros built in June; a span of about 3 weeks.

William,
Thanks for your reply. So all Norwood built cars in June had 06A? Or what exactly do you mean? Thanks in advance

Yes all June Norwood cars had a trim tag build of 6A, although cars were actually built in the weeks following as well.
