Title: Muncie M-21 Help
Post by: mcp on November 09, 2007, 10:13:57 PM
During hard de-accelleration in fourth gear @high RPM and let off the gas, my transmission jumps out of gear.  Fourth gear and only fourth gear.  Does anyone else have the same sympton and does anyone know the fix?

My trans does that too. I've been told the synchros are bad.

From my dark past I remember that as a bad synchro.

It's not the synchros, it's the 3-4 slider that causes that.  The brass rings slow the gear down so it can go into the next gear.  When a trans grinds when going into gear, that is the brass rings going bad.
