Any thoughts on whether this would be a correct unit for a 69 RS?Thank you.http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=015&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&viewitem=&item=250180863175&rd=1

It would fit, but its not the correct number. Here is a correct numbered motor I rebuilt, which I have not rebuilt the pump for it yet. This motor is destined for ebay eventually.

What dates are you guys looking for? The first number in the date field is a julian date.

I saw that, but he did not list the part number. A lot of NOS parts are later service parts with different numbers.

While we are on the topic of data codes and part numbers on wiper motors, I have a couple of questions:
1.) Those of you with original, survivor 69's both RS and non-RS cars, what are the P/N's and date codes on your pump motors? Please include the VIN and build date of your car along with corresponding P/N and date code info on your pump.
2.) What was the P/N's of the RS and non-RS pump on original 69 Camaros from the Assy Plants vs. those as GM service replacements? Was there a RS service replacement pump or was the RS solenoid diverter valve to be switched to new wiper motor (I assume)?
Pics of your original pumps with the date codes would be great.
I am sure answers to these questions are on CRG. I'll search the CRG sight on this topic unless someone already knows the link to it.
The 69 AIM, UPC section 1, page 26 list P/N-5045572 as the motor & pump asm. In UPC section "Z22", page 454 covering the RS option, it does not list the "RS" pump subassembly P/N that would have had the RS head light solenoid attached. The notes in this section state to see the parts list or the BOM to part numbers.
Thanks!

Part number 5045 is clearly visible; then there is a 6, what looks to be a 0, then 5, i.e. 5045605?
TYPE E
12 V

Dave, the headlight washers are part of the CE1 option, which was included in the RS package. RS wiper motor is part number 5045605 as noted on page 238, CE1-A2 in the AIM. pumps were stamped with part number in the end plate with no dating in the beginning of the 69 run. Later the silver foil lable was added with part number, julian date and possible plant/line numbers. Then at some point, the stamped PN in the end plate was discontinued.

My 02D Norwood car, 9N606402 (non-RS), has its original wiper motor - mylar foil label has 5045572, dated 036 9 B F.

John, does it have the stamped PN on the endplate?

KevinW,
Thanks. After I logged off CRG I glanced thru the AIM and ran across the CE1 option. I forgot about this and reference to this pump. Good info on the data coding and the silver foil lable!
Rich69rs and ....good pics....and info....thanks
