Title: 1969 oil pump
Post by: asm69 on October 27, 2007, 05:37:04 PM
How can I tell if I have the original 302 engine high volume oil pump.

Are their any numbers cast into it?

Does it look different?

Are the internal gears larger than other low volume oil pumps (I read that somewhere)?

Z/28's didn't have a high-volume oil pump, nor did any other production small-blocks; high-volume oil pumps are an aftermarket invention (and are unnecessary).

Thanks John Z.

I thought that I read somewhere that the z28 oil pump gears were bigger. If I find any additional
information I will post it.
