Regarding the optional dash clock on the 69 Camaro. What determined if you got this option. If you ordered rally gauges with console, was the clock part of the package or did you need to order the clock separately? Could you get just the dash clock and no gauges? Did ordering the console (either with or without gauges) affect the ability to order a dash clock? Finally, if you did not get a console and ordered a tach with the center fuel gauge, was there a clock option? I see for the 1968 Camaro there was a clock option on the console as well as a clock option on a non-console car that was mounted directly on the hump under the ashtray.
Thanks,
Steve

My 69 L65 has the center dash clock and console w/ no gauges.

Clock was part of the U17 gauge package. U17 obviously required a console to mount the gauges on. You could order a clock without the U17 gauges. If you ordered a tach you got a center mounted fuel gauge and could not get a clock. Dealers may have installed a 68 console, or floor mounted clock (if you didn't have a console) if a buyer wanted one, but they were not available from the factory.

Does anyone have a pic of the dash bezel for a console clock but with the clock removed. I have a template but seeing an actual bezel with the cutout will help me from cutting mine up incorrectly. Post pic here or email pic to sdkar@bellsouth.net
Thanks,
Steve

So if I'm reading things correctly, '67 is the only year in which the clock (U-35) could be ordered seperately? And it would be tunnel mounted unless the full U-17 is ordered (then it is part of the console gauge cluster)?

so where's your fuel gauge?

Mounted in the center console with temperature gauge, oil pressure gauge, and ammeter! See photo below...

Wasn't there a console mounted or floor mounted clock only option for 68 as well?

That's what I am wondering as the wording of the options is very different in the Camaro Whitte book (my "at hand" reference). Also, since the U17's clock is mounted in the tach that might imply that the console would never see a clock...that leaves just the floor mounted one. Now I am only referring to RPOs and not dealer options

Floor mounted, or console mounted clocks, RPO U35, were available in 67 and 68 from the factory only. Obviously which one you got depended on if you ordered a console or not.

I have a console mounted clock in my non-U-17 '67 convertible...I thought that the clocks looked the same (except for the mount) for both floor and console (non-U-17) in '67. So I am assuming that the '68 U-35 looked the same as for '67.
