Is the VIN stamped on a TH350 Automatic for '69? I found the date code on the pan but I was unsure if the VIN is stamped on the trans case. If so, where is it?
-
Check the flange where the trans bolts to the engine, on the drivers side near the casting # on the block.
-
I have a LA Pace car with the 350 trans and it is on the passenger side on a flat area.
I have pics on another computer if you want me to send them to you.
Let me know.

As shown in the Assembly Manual (M38, Sheet A1), there were two VIN locations - one for Norwood on the driver's side, and one for Van Nuys on the passenger side.
-
Here's mine from an LA car.
-
My Norwood car has it on drivers side.
I have a pic but dont know how to post it. I can e mail it to you.
-
I would like to see the Norwood example. Could you please email to rjprice@satx.rr.com.? I'm not sure where to look on my car. I guess I need a mirror to see it? Thanks!

Although not a TH350, the Powerglide in my Norwood 01C RS is shown in the attached pics in this e-mail and the next. Partial VIN is shown stamped into the casting, at the top, on the driver (LH) side.

My stamp looks like Rich's.
I will send you a email.

I have a Norwood smallblock/TH350. Can it be seen with the engine/trans in the car? I do have power brakes.

Ok, I just found my VIN on the bell housing flange. It matches the other VINs and has the exact same font as Rich's example. Cool.
