I need to have my calipers rebuilt on my 67,anyone know a good rebuilder? ???

VETTE BRAKES (http://www.vbandp.com/) did mine a few years ago. I went with them because they have a lifetime warranty and the price was only $100.00 per caliper.

i used lonestar caliper in texas for my 67. real nice guys. actually talked with the owner on the phone. i got my original date coded calipers back, not somebody elses. make sure that you ask about getting your calipers back.

X2. They did the stainless steel re-sleeve and rebuild of my 4-piston calipers off of my 67 10 years ago and they still work just fine.

I believe the 4-piston Camaro calipers used the same raw castings as the Corvette; no one in the NCRS community has ever found a consistent pattern or coding on the Delco castings that indicates the dates, although there are several different foundry codings for patterns, etc.

John I found what I believe are dates on mine when I removed them to have them sleeved. In my case, they were in Julian format. One was cast "120" (April 29th), and the other was cast "99" (April 8th). Since my car is a 05D build, that looks correct.
If I remember correctly, the dates were located just next to the "Delco Moraine 5455533" casting.

Ed would that part number denote the year? Or is there a year stamped on them also.

No, there was no year stamping, just the julian date code and the casting number.

Hi Guys -
Just for fun I checked the "numbers" on the brake calipers on my 02C Van Nuys built '68Z. Here's the data on the calipers:
Left front caliper:
Inner half casting number: 5455530
Julian date: 304 (October 31,1967) Assuming per Ed's comment, that this number is the julian date.
Outer half casting number: 5455533
Julian date: 37 (February 6, 1968)
Right front caliper:
Inner half casting number: 5455530
Julian date: 346 (December 12, 1967)
Outer half casting number: 5455533
Julian date: 352 (December 18, 1967)
I'm assuming my calipers are original as the car has been in storage for 26 years and the only unoriginal part I've found on the car is the water pump. Hope this helps... :)

WOW!! :o Two Van Nuys '68Zs built one to two weeks apart with all four brake caliper dates the same!! 8) I guess they are original. ;D

I made a bad assumption - the Camaro calipers are different castings, based on the numbers posted; Corvette front caliper casting numbers are different (5452270 and 5452273), and few have anything other than the casting number.
