I would like to know how many "documented"L78 69 pace cars are known?Of these how many are 4 spd and how many with original drivetrain?Thank you.

i have just (in a barn)found a L79 pace car- could anyone tell me how many were made-i am guessing very few- would like to know to judge price- looks like 38000 miles with paper work and needs restored thanks

sorry , my mistake , it is a L/89 pace car

Maybe a half dozen or so L89 pacecars are known including the 2 "real" pacecars. An L89 with 38K miles, original drivetrain and paperwork is certainly going to be in the 100K+ range. The better the body condition the more it worth, conversely if its a rust bucket it will be worth less but 100K is a good mid point price.

You're asking for the moon. :)
There are a few (at least 20-40) L78 pacers out there, and several still with orig drivetrain. Many more than that were made, but not all survive.

Thanks for the reply.I thought there was a pace car registry keeping track of these things.I did not realize there were 20-40 documented 69 L78 convertibles known to exist let alone pace cars.
