DID THE 67 REAR SPOILER GET REGULAR NUTS OR ACORN NUTS? ALSO DID THEY USE WASHERS? ???
-
1967 Camaros were not available with the D80 option.

But didnt the dealers install them?
-
They could have, but who knows what kind of nut each dealer would use?
-
The 68 spoiler should fit, and I think most of the aftermarket companies can provide the correct 1968 hardware. That should do you.

Thanks Guys,I bought a spoiler for the car back in 1984 and its a GM piece and its the short spoiler which was still available from GM.I just wasnt sure what kind of nuts they used.So I will use reg ones. ;D
-
1968 Factory spoilers and dealer installed kits had acorn nuts at the rear edge, these were deeper than normal hardware store stuff. The front edge used large flange nuts. Both egdes used self sealing nitrile rubber distance washers on the top where the spoiler meets the decklid.

If the spoiler is incorrect for the car, (no spoilers on 67's) what difference does it make. IMO ;)
-
One other point, was a spoiler available over the counter during the 67 model year? I don't think it was.

Jerry, the 67 camaro assembley manual shows how to install a front spoiler but nothing on a rear spoiler. Was a front spoiler available from the dealer?
-
I doubt is was available in 1967, And the 1968 front spoilers are different fro the 69s and point straight down.

Jerry,do you know the part number for the 68 front spoiler? I had the bodyshop paint 2 trunk lids for me, 1 with a spoiler and 1 without. I guessing you would advise me NOT to put spoilers on the 67. I now have no spoiler on the trunk lid

But they did put the front spoiler back on without asking me. :o
