Looking @ 01D build LA 69 Z/28. Engine is 01 21 build and rear is 01 28 build. These dates work w/the 01D vehicle build? Disclaimer: Forum Newbie, excuse if post is repeat, wrong area, ........................... ??? Thanks

I'll kick this to the top for you.... perhaps someone else can chime in.
I have heard that in the Tonawanda plant that the engines were turned around real quick from casting to built up. Same with rear ends.... so....????
anyone else
good luck

An 01D car could have started in the Body Shop as late as January 31st, which would have put it in Chassis on the Chevrolet side on February 5th or 6th; a January 21 engine and January 28 axle aren't out of the question with that span. Others may have vehicle data to compare it against.

I don't know if this helps since it is a Norwood car but I have the POP on a '69 Converitble...Engine T0827DD, Rear axle BA0828G, TH350 Auguast 11th, car 09A...so that is pretty close timing.
I also have a january '69 build LA SS that has all of it's original drive train...REar axle is BL0123G, the engine is F0117HB the tranny I don't recall but the build of the car is 01E (that's mostly from memory...if you want I can dbl check for you)

Thanks to everyone for the replies and info. I've been reading previous threads about build dates on the cowl tag, body numbers, etc. I'm dizzy from all the info, but confident that the dates I mentioned are real. Thanks again.
