Hi, I'm looking at purchasing a a 1969 Camaro RS SS396 350hp Auto A/C RS/SS 396 Camaro and have been trying to validate the originality of the car (always a challenge). I would love some input. Here are some key facts:
The trim tag reads st69 12437 nor 312029
729 52E
O5A x22
Carb# is7029204 FFand does not have a date code
Block 3955272 cast D-22-9 (2 days before the front pad date)
Front Pad has T0424JI (codes out to 396 350hp)
Owner states in writing the partial VIN # is on the lower part of the block
Intake date code is H 8 8 (pretty early?)
Turbo 400 #'s are either ct-68 0r QT-68 (I think this is incorrect ???)
Rear end code is BM (correct for 3.31 open)
Original 2 piece brake rotors
Curved neck radiator
Thank you!

Hi
Might be good idea to post the vin also...
I am aware of two 05A cowl tags and the body numbers are are like 7 to 10 thousand higher... so a little odd...
but I am just a curious onlooker here and the other guys will chime in soon enough to help out...
good luck

The VIN number is: 124379N638916

With all the fake tags out there, it would help if you posted a pic of the tag. Also a pic of the engine block pad stamping.

I'll ask the same questions I asked on TC:
Does the car have AC?
What is the rest of the axle code?
Do you have a pic of the cowl tag or engine pad?

The car does have A/C. I've asked the owner for a picture of the cowl tag and the stamping on the front of the block but no response so far...I should have taken them when I went to see the car.
