I am trying to decode the numbers in my 68 Camaro.
Here are the numbers that I have
VP929 YU ( this is very lightly stamped and I can't tell if these #'s are actually right)
C7U118513
attached is a picture if it helps.
Any help would be appreaciated.

It's really a TYU. You can barely see the "T", but it's there.
V0929TYU
V - Flint V8 Engine Plant
09 - September
29 - Day
TYU - 1977 350/160 with manual transmission, 4-bbl carb (RPO LS9) 1/2 and 3/4 ton pickups
C7U118513 is the VIN
C - Chevy truck division
7 - 1977
U - Lordstown Assembly plant
118513 - Production sequence number that started at 100001. Yours is the 18,513rd truck produced at the Lordstown, Ohio Plant

Thanks for your help.

can you tell me what the 160 stands for in: TYU - 1977 350/160 with manual transmission ?
is it 160HP?
It feels like it has a lot more power than that when driving it.

It started out as 160HP, but who knows what's happened in 30 years!
