Title: 69 Z28 spoiler stripes
Post by: ckresto on July 08, 2007, 02:11:03 PM
I'm in that painting phase and want to know if the stripes just come down to the front and rear edge of the spoiler?  Or do they go all the way down to that 1/4 inch space between the spoiler edges and the trunk lid?

The stripe ends at the horizontal edge, not the recessed area where the spoiler sits on the deck lid. Does this help?

That sure does.  I think it would look better too.

My follow up question is: was the spoiler and cowl panel on the car when the stripes were applied. Shoild they be taped out then spray off the car? How are you guys doing it?

The cowl panel was loosely installed on the car through the main color booth, but the rear spoiler was not - it was painted body color off the car, then installed on the deck lid prior to the in-line repair booth, where the stripes on the cowl panel and the deck lid were masked and sprayed. The deck lid stripes were masked and sprayed with the spoiler installed.
