Title: NO VIN TAG IN CALIFORNIA

I purchased a car with no vin......removed for resto....no cowl tag......i ran the car three different ways, as a six and eight cylinder camaro...and as a firebird....nothing in CA DMV system.......he had told me he did the same before......i paid a co. to start the paperwork and they told me id have no problem......cowl vin is visible and i have an appt. at the CHP on the 20th.(OH JOY)...anyone with CA experience? thanks in advance.

You have contacted the DMV and have an appointment with CHP.  You are on the right road.  Good luck!

Here's hoping the title is clean. I knew someone here in NJ who went through a similar process back in the 70's, only to lose the car. It had been stolen some years earlier, and if I recall correctly the insurance company got the car.
