Title: 67/8/9 lower control arms
Post by: Tinkerr on December 19, 2005, 05:22:10 AM
does anybody know if there is a distinguishable difference between 67/8/9 lower control arms? the metal on mine is peened up where somebody got carried away removing the ball joints.i know the subframes have minor variations for each year, but don't know about the control arms.i'm having everything powdercoated and these imperfections will show-up.it probably sounds trivial but i'm particular and judges notice these things. thank

Shooting from memory here, I'm sure someone can jump in here and correct me if my memory is failing:
The main difference is the location of the bumper stop for the lower control arm.  You need to use the arms from the same year subframe you have.
1967 - the bumpers are located on the subframe.
1968 - the bumper is located on the back of the control arm.
1969 - the bumper is located on the front of the control arm.

Some of the arms have the holes for the bumpers front and back.

67 arms have spot welded nuts for the lower shock mount. 69s used a J-nut.
