Title: '68 Z/28 trans. crossmember markings?
Post by: Yenko#YS-100 on May 28, 2007, 08:02:51 PM
Anyone know what wax/crayon markings might have been on the bottom side of the transmission crossmember? My Z is long gone, but I still have the crossmember. I was just looking at it, and noticed markings. I had stripped all the paint off of it years ago, and never noticed the markings.

Thanks for any input.

The only vintage Camaro chassis photo I know of is the #3 ZL1 in HI-Perf Cars Aug '69. The crossmember is visible and has '718' written on it; probably the unit number for that days' production.

Somewhere in the plant was body 718 looking for its frame in marriage.

Thanks guys! I'll dig it out again, and see if I can make out what it has on it.
