Title: Body seam sealant
Post by: wolfe1 on December 13, 2005, 08:27:40 PM
I'm currently in the process of replacing quarters and outer wheel houses on my '69 coupe. What is the  correct calk or sealant to use between panels, for example where the quarters meet the rear panel and the inner and outer wheel houses meet? There's a guy on e-bay pushing 3M strip-calk 8578 as what the OEMs use. What is correct? Thanks

I have heard a lot of body shops use a product called "Fast 'n' Firm" by 3M.  I have no real first hand experience with it, but it may be worth looking into.  I believe it comes in a traditional looking caulk tube.
