Title: rubber mystery part
Post by: 68rsssrag on April 28, 2007, 04:37:15 AM
Does anyone have a clue on what this part is and where it goes? I found it in my wndhield moulding box with a note i wrote saying it belongs on the windhield frame 2 3/4" off center on the drivers side. I cannot figure out where it goes.

Sorry for the typo...it was in the windshield moulding box for my 1968 Convertible.

I had a 69 vette years back and had a piece like that in the door jam like on the first gen camaro converts have.

This is soft rubber not hard plastic so i don't think its a rub strip. 1st gen Camaro rags have 3 rub strips on the hearder bow and this isn't one of them.

I can't remberber how soft that part is but it looks like a support that goes under the L/H header molding on the top portion of the winshield frame.

Sebastien

That makes sense. Is there only one (LHS only)?

Time to take off the header moulding anyway to have a look before the winnshield goes in.
