First off I should say if there is a better forum for me to ask these questions please let me know, thanks. I just picked up my 69 Camaro last Friday night so the first thing I do is change the oil, oil filter and air filter. The oil filter that came off of it apears to be a AC Delco PF25, what was the correct oil filter part number? My car has a working cowl hood and i couldn't find a correctly sized air filter to fit it. I wound up using a Fram CA136 in it, what is the proper part number for the air filter? Thanks guys, I know I have alot of basic questions but I am new to the 1st gens.

I noticed from your 4/23 picture of your car that it appears to be a 350 ci engine by the insignia. Is that what is in the car? We need to know what engine you have to help with the filter question. :)

Yes I'm sorry it is a 350.

Open element is an AC212, the enclosed filter for cars like the LM1 and L48 is an AC348.

I'm not familiar with the L designations. Where do I find that designation for my car?

Thank you. Here's my dilema, the car is badged as an SS but it has a PG in it so i'm thinking it was originally a 307 car which I take it would have been an LM1...... but I think the engine may have been replaced. Is there anyway to tell which engine is actually in it? Sorry for all the rookie questions but i need to figure all this out. Thanks again.

Check the machined pad on the front of the block in front of the passenger side cylinder head and post everything you see stamped there. Also check the raised block casting number (driver's side, rear flange of block, behind the cylinder head), and the raised casting date code (rear flange of block, on the passenger side). Post all three numbers and we can decode them for you.

Hey thanks Paul. I'll have to take a look at it when I get home tonight. I also have the card the POP came attached to from the dealership. This car was originally sold at Harry Saddlers Chevrolet in Tennessee, I think it may be Elliott Saddlers fathers dealership, not that it matters but it's cool anyways.

Ok Old Man, that looks like it originally came with a 307/200 in it with powerglide. Everyone agree?

With a 2.73:1 open rear end (BP0804G); BP = 2.73:1 open rear end; 0804 = August 4; G=Detroit Gear and Axle Plant
C0P12 C=Cleveland built Powerglide Next 4 nubmers should be the assembly date

Thanks guys that's what I finally got out of it also. The vin matches the POP so it is a clone but at least now I know it for sure and I know how it came from the factory.
Now I need to figure out what's in this 350 and if it was built like a 300HP SS engine.
