Title: Heat shield bolts 274430
Post by: x66 714 on March 29, 2022, 11:55:48 PM
Does anybody know if the bolt (274430) that holds the heat shields on a small block is the same bolt that's used on the oil pan or timing cover? Thank you, Joe

No its different . Its a regular lock washer or small flat washer on the bolt . Not a star washer like the oil pan /timing cover bolts .Can post a photo if you want .

Maybe some were but all I've ever noted were they were a star washer. I took this picture recently reviewing and confirming that the screw and bottom section of spark plug 2 piece heat shield (drivers side) that bolts to block was installed prior to paint at Flint and bolt's captured washer was in fact a star type locking washer.
