Title: Vin from Peru
Post by: Jniemela on April 16, 2007, 03:11:46 AM
Through some business dealings in Peru I've run across a couple 67s.  I've got one vin and waiting on cowl tags for both and another vin.  I've got a close friend down there and he's looking into these for me.  Suppose to be matching numbers and second owners.  Vin for 1 is 124377N235382.  Just wanted to see if there is any history on it or if it had been stolen.

Any issues about bringing these cars in from South America?

Shouldn't be any different than bringing one in from Canada; if it's over 25 years old and was built in the U.S., there are no tax, duty, or emission issues.

Thanks and doubt that anyone has ever seen the VIN then?

Given the limited information I currently have would the build date for the following vin look close to the right date for production to have matching #s.

VIN 124377N235382
Engine N V0607ME

That engine date looks correct.
