Post by: ric1969 on March 07, 2022, 06:16:29 AM
Is there any early 69s has 68 rally stripes on the trunk lid with no spoiler .

That is a GOOD question...
I only know of two cars with the narrow stripes BOTH are LA built and both VERY early cars built in Sept.

Most famous of the two is the Hot Rod magazine test car, featured in the January '69 issue. Also seen in Sportscar Graphic and Popular Hot Rodding. Built with D80.

Still exists, final-assembled on or about October 1, 1968.

Here are photos of the rear of the car in question from the Hot Rod article photo shoot.  See more here: https://archive.petersen.org/pages/search.php#

L501608 09B one owner unrestored - THIS Lemans Blue Car and the Hugger Orange one above are the only two I know that have been documented,
DO I DARE ASSUME  :o  any LA car built prior would have had the narrow stripe...

So cool to see a Z with Vigil Lights.  Gotta be a crazy rare option on a Z.

Those headers with smog pump system still installed was a surprise.

Seeing those ET traction bars makes me want to drag out my old relics and put them back on the car.  I kind of have a "day two" thing going on so it would be fun. They are bad heavy though.

vigilite is crazy rare period... somewhere around or just less than half a percent of production.

1,450 0.6% to be exact.

In the PHR feature that included the orange Z/28, they tested an L78/L89 automatic Camaro SS-RS. Also had U46. Like the Z/28, also beat on at the drag strip. Maybe why it exists today with non-OE trans.

That would seem to be a reasonable assumption.
