Sold at B-J Lake Tahoe 2013 for $110,000. Also listed with R&M Sothebys 2013, no sale. Had TTs at that time.

What has changed is the description.

The B-J listing states "...undocumented L89 aluminum heads...all components are date-code correct."

The Sothebys listing states "Correct drivetrain..." but mentions a Protect-O-Plate.

The current Mecum listing states "Matching numbers 396/375 HP L89 Engine"..."Matching numbers 4-speed close ratio transmission." Also claims to have a bill of sale. Those claims were not made in the previous ads. Nowhere does it state born-with or original drivetrain.

As for the car, looks to be a decent restoration, some minor finish errors. Wrong shifter, Polyglas tires.

Proceed with caution.

White sticker or decal on passenger inner fender looks like a Canadian decal for the oil service

The shifter looks like a GTO unit to me. Nice car but if you are going to pay for "one of 311" I would have to be sure that is what it actually is. Lynchburg VA was known to have a few drag race guys. There is a black over red 69 L78 chevelle from there that the original owner bought new and drag raced it.

Thank you William. Are there any pics of the drivetrain stampings out there?

Car was NOM, then suddenly had a restamped L89 and fake docs.

Man, what a shame...still a very nice appearing resto.
